La semana pasada se realizó la segunda fecha de la tercera temporada de la LIV Golf League.
Dustin Johnson se impuso en el LIV Golf Las Vegas, certamen que se desarrolló en Las Vegas Country Club, Estados Unidos.
El estadounidense totalizó para los 54 hoyos de juego 198 golpes, 12 bajo par, rondas de 67, 62 y 69 impactos.
Por su triunfo se embolsó un cheque por US$ 4.000.000.
Johnson de 39 años y profesional desde 2007, cosechó su palmarés 31 y su tercero en la LIV Golf League.
Poseedor de dos “Majors” US Open en 2016 y The Masters Tournamnet en 2020, el estadounidense sigue cosechando títulos.
La segunda posición correspondió a Talor Gooch con 199 golpes (66+66+67) y a Peter Uihlein (66+65+68). Ambos players se adjudicaron un cheque por US$ 1.875.000.
En equipos Smash GC fue el campeón con 33 bajo par. El equipo capitaneado por Brooks Koepka y sus compañeros Greame Mc Dowell, Jason Kokrak y Talor Gooch se llevaron un cheque cada uno por US$ 750.000.
4Aces GC (Dustin Johnson, Pat Perez, Patrick Reed y Harold Varner III) finalizó segundo con 26 bajo par.
El podio lo completó RangeGoats GC (Bubba Watson, Peter Uihlein, Matthew Wolff y Thomas Pietres) con 24 bajo par.
El equipo de Latinoamérica, nos referimos al Torque GC capitaneado por el chileno Joaqueín Niemann junto a su compatriota Guillermo “Mito” Pereira, el colombiano Juan Sebastián Muñóz y el mexicano Carlos Ortiz ocupó la sexta colocación con 16 bajo par.
En la rama individual, Muñoz empleó 203 golpes (67+68+68) y cerró en la novena posición; Niemann realizó 208 impactos (68+66+74) y se ubicó en el lugar 30; Ortiz totalizó 210 golpes (68+73+69) puesto 39 y Pereira hizo 212 impactos (76+64+72) en la colocación 49 sobre un field de 54 profesionales.
Del 1º al 3 de marzo se jugará la tercera fecha denominada LIV Golf Jeddah y será en el Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, Arabia Saudita.
